If your emails are not being delivered to Gmail inboxes or are marked as spam/junk, follow the steps below. We highly recommend that everyone implement these steps, even if you aren't currently experiencing issues. Doing so will improve the chances of keeping your emails out of the junk mailbox.
1. Configure a DKIM record
If you haven't already. Configure the DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) record in your domain's DNS settings. This DKIM record will authenticate the sending email server to send emails in your name. It will be less likely that emails get marked as spam when using DKIM authentication.
2. Configure an SPF record
Ensure that your domain has an SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record set up. Similar to DKIM, this record authenticates the sources (domains or IP addresses) that are permitted to send emails on your behalf. An SPF record further minimizes the risk of your emails being flagged as spam.
3. Register your domain in Google Postmaster Tools
- Head over to the Google Postmaster Tools website: https://postmaster.google.com/
- Add your domain to the Google Postmaster Tools dashboard
- Copy the TXT record and configure it for your domain in the DNS settings, after configuring wait a few minutes before clicking "Verify" to complete the verification.
